Wyvern Lingo is made up of Saoirse Duane (guitar, vocals) Caoimhe Barry, drums, vocals) and Karen Cowley (keys, vocals)
With influences as diverse as Led Zeppelin to Lauryn Hill, and Jeff Buckley to Joni Mitchell, Wyvern Lingo have spent over 5 years writing together.
Originally from Bray, Co. Wicklow, Wyvern Lingo have recently been achieving recognition on the Dublin scene for their “soulful, powerful vocals and harmonies.” Their set ranges from stripped back a cappella and acoustic folk tunes to heavier, fuller compositions, often with the addition of bass and string sections. Sounds like if Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young grew up listening to Destiny’s Child!
Wyvern Lingo released their debut EP in Ireland in 2014, and the band toured with Hozier in the UK and at home; Karen and Caoimhe both putting in a double shift by singing backing vocals for their Wicklow friend. Karen also duets with Hozier on the haunting ‘In A Week’ on his bestselling debut album.
Having firmly established themselves as one of the most exciting upcoming Irish acts, and signed with leading Irish independent label Rubyworks, the future is bright for Wyvern Lingo. Bray is Class.
