Elizabeth recently graduated from the University of Iowa in Iowa City. She taught herself how to play guitar as a teenager in Vinton, Iowa, and it was thanks to the writing community of Iowa City that she was inspired to write her own songs during her later college years. Her sound and songs flow fluidly across many genres, and are inspired by modern artists such as Alabama Shakes, Sharon Van Etten, Angel Olsen, Julien Baker, Esmé Patterson, and Lake Street Dive and older influences such as Stevie Nicks, Joni Mitchell, and Bonnie Raitt.
Elizabeth Moen has also had the opportunity to play with acts such as Lake Street Dive, Margaret Glaspy, Lucy Dacus, Houndmouth, Son Little, Esme Patterson, William Elliott Whitmore (featured on her LP), Caroline Smith, Nicole Atkins, the Weepies, Lissie, Becca Mancari (July), and many more. In addition to these acts, Moen has also had the opportunity to play at many special festivals and venues such as Mission Creek Festival, 80/35 Music Festival, Camp Euforia Music Festival, music residencies with Sofar Sounds, The Englert Theater, FOAM St. Louis, The Tonic Room Chicago, Bottom of the Hill San Francisco, Neck of the Woods San Francisco, Lost Church San Francisco, Whelan’s Dublin, Workman’s Dublin, The Ruby Sessions Dublin, The Roisin Dubh Galway, La Java Pop Orleans France, CSPS Hall, The Raccoon Motel, Daytrotter, and many more.
